When I saw the stencil I immediately thought street art - I love street art - yet since you mixed it with WC you could say mixed media. However the question is this, are you looking to do more painterly work or are you moving more towards street art? I would say that whichever direction you are heading then stick with that. Yet, I think Mixed Media is the spot for you. Great job! I like the infusion of the two styles and the color choice!

Thanks... I guess I use to only paint, for the past year I have been stenciling alot, mixing it up seems to be where I fit most. I like to learn something and the apply the best parts into my work, at least thats what I try to do.
Ive been told to stick to one style, but it just dosent work for me..Im all over the place if you look at my gallery, what style do ya like?
Thanks for asking, makes me think :)

So, I checked out your gallery and I am impressed. This is beautiful work. I think the best thing for you to do is to just paint. Paint whatever you want and do not worry about what your "category" is. A lot of artist spend a lifetime trying to figure out what style they are. Which is fine, as life is a journey and we all make it one way or another. Just paint and keep experimenting with what you do. When you think you've pushed the stencils far enough, back off and add textures. Try using contact sheets and mess around with joint compound or whatever you can find! Let it flow, the last thing you need to worry about is what "category" you are. Let the critics handle that.

Yet, back to the main point, I think that your work is more street art and not so much mixed media because mixed media typically involves assemblage, heavy textures and what not. Stenciling is a street art staple and just by what I see, people will probably take you for being a street artist because of that and that's cool! I've added you to my watch list because I am excited to see what you'll come up with next, keep up the good work!

Thanks, and I agree with you, and thats basically what Ive always done: just paint. And experimenting is something I love to do, so we'll keep on keeping on.

Thanks for taking the time to comment.

And you have a nice design website, I checked it out, looks like some interesting work and a fun job :)
